Four builders · four colors

The sauce builders.

Four dry blends that handle the hard part of a good sauce. These are not herb blends you sprinkle on at the end. They are the starting point. Add a liquid. Get a sauce.

The four sauce builders

01 / Sun-dried tomato + herb

Tuscan Gold

Sun-dried tomato, oregano, basil, fennel. Bloom it in olive oil and it turns into a bright, herby red sauce that tastes like it sat on the stove all afternoon. It didn't.

02 / Saffron + citrus · the splurge

Golden Hour

Real saffron, smoked paprika, lemon zest. The splurge of the four, and the one people text me about. Made for rice, seafood, and cream sauces that punch above a weeknight.

03 / Calabrian chili

Brooklyn Heat

Calabrian chili, garlic, fennel. Heat that actually tastes like something. Add a can of crushed tomato and let it rip into an arrabbiata, or steep it into a chili oil you'll put on everything.

04 / Tomato garlic confit

Slow Jam

Sun-dried tomato, garlic, basil. The everyday one. All the deep, jammy flavor of tomato confit, minus the afternoon it usually takes. Good on pasta, toast, or eggs.
